“De leeftijd van onze patiënten in ziekenhuizen is substantieel ouder – de mediaan is 67, terwijl dat in China 46 jaar was”, zegt Prof. Ricciardi. “Dus in wezen is de leeftijdsverdeling van onze patiënten naar een oudere leeftijd verschoven en dit is substantieel in de toename van de mortaliteit.”
